Abstract:

In the past two years, we’ve witnessed a rapid rise in the capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs), transforming tasks we once believed were exclusive to human intellect. These models can now perform tasks once thought to be far in the future of AI development. While the full extent of their capabilities is still being explored, with the right prompts, tools, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques, LLMs are already proving to be valuable assets in both teaching and research. This talk will provide an overview of cutting-edge LLM applications, highlighting practical techniques in prompting, code generation, and problem-solving. We will also explore the limitations and challenges these models face, along with the exciting possibilities they hold for the future of academia and beyond.
